They eat a wonderful meal and have a lot of sex and take big changes to create excitement and thrills on the highest ski slopes. These activities-though full of pleasure-often backfire, and we soon discover that pleasure can lead to sadness and regret rather than happiness. The great meal leads to indigestion or weight gain, the daring snowboarding moves lead to fractures, and even sex can lead to broken relationships and often STDs. So if you are looking for happiness know that it might not be on the same path as pleasure. The trick is to know which one you really want - pleasure or happiness. There is always lots to grumble about if you focus outside for your happiness.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some people will get 9 months of happiness and they are no different from the people who suffered 9 months of torture while the economic downturn persisted. Be among those who are happy in the recession. Use this time to raise the level of your happiness. Here are a few tips from my new book, &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;THE TIME TO BE HAPPY IS NOW.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A - Assume the role of a happy person. They not only feel well, but they are also able to contribute to their families and to society, and are excited about tomorrow.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;True, they may have to continue to take medication, but that is a small price to pay for the gift of health and the ability to function well on a daily basis.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The best part of this is to know that happiness is within the ambit of your control.
